Llopart Original 1887 awarded with Gold Medal and Llopart Leopardi, with a Silver Medal at Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships
Llopart winery has been awarded with two medals in the prestigious Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC): Gold for the Original 1887 and Silver for Leopardi.
Original 1887 Brut Nature is the longest aged of our wines; the sample tasted by CSWWC judges was vintage 2009, therefore its aging time was over 10 years on its lees. The unique blend features Montònega, the mountain Parellada, and is a replica of the first Llopart sparkling wine ever made.
Leopardi Brut Nature is a long aging wine made in honor of the first winemaker in the family, the ancestor Bernardus Leopardi, mentioned in a parchment from 1385. Leopardi Brut Nature is a delicate blend of the three local grapes (Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada), and ages for a minimum of 82 months on its lees.
The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) is the only international sparkling wine competition judged by sparkling wine specialists, for the new generation of sparkling wine consumers who enjoy sparkling wine on any occasion.
The CSWWC endorses provenance and promotes world-class sparkling wines of every region as gastronomic wines par excellence. The competition is now in its 6th year and continues to grow in numbers and stature.
