Llopart Microcosmos and Llopart Brut Nature, 2 out of 4 Special Awards at the Challenge International du vin
This year, the sparkling wines of the world were honored: 263 wines were in competition for the 4 Special Effervescent Awards
Llopart Microcosmos Rosé i el Llopart Brut Nature Reserva had been awarded at the Challenge International du Vin. Two out of the four Special Awards were granted to Llopart, the other two were given to the Vignier-Lebrun and Maurice Vesselle Grand Cru Champagnes.
The Challenge International du Vin is a very prestigious contest that gathered 545 professionals that blind tasted 3761 references. The Challenge also counts on the participation of a special jury that changes every edition to select the Special Awards. In this edition, the 42nd of the oldest wine competition organized in France, the special jury included the oenologist and sommelier Mar Galván Romero.
Microcosmos Brut Nature Rosé is elaborated with Pinot Noir (85%) and Monastrell (15%). It has a complex aroma of wild red fruits blended with toasted nuances from its long bottle aging.
The Reserva Brut Nature was one of the pioneers in its type and it has become a classic from the Penedès region. With an aging of over 26 months, it balances perfectly the subtle fruity notes and the tertiary tones that come from the lengthy aging.
