Llopart Panoramic, gold medal,
Gold Medal, Best in Class Corpinnat and Regional Trophy at the CSWWC
London, November 4, 2022-. The jury of the international sparkling wine competition Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC), formed by Tom Stevenson, Essi Avellan MW, and George Markus, awarded the gold medal to Llopart Panoramic, and recognized it as Best in Class Corpinnat in a gala event that took place at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London.
Nearly 1,000 references from 21 different countries were submitted this year. The tasting resulted in 147 Gold medals. The Master of Wine Essi Avellan wanted to emphasize the “quality of all the wines tasted” and congratulated the winning wineries.
Llopart Panoramic is a Corpinnat from the Llopart winery made with Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada, aged for more than 48 months. The tasters described it as an “elegant wine” with a “smooth caressing mousse”, “very balanced and pleasing”. They also highlighted its “eternal length”.
A historic wine
Llopart Panoramic is one of the historic wines from Llopart: it was first released at the beginning of the seventies, and has ever since kept its very personal essence, with predominance of the Xarel·lo grape, full-bodied, delicate tones of aging and subtle oxidative hints. Its name and label connect with the winery’s landscape: the family estate comprises 500 hectares where mountain vineyards and Mediterranean forest coexist, at an average altitude of 360m above sea level, facing an exceptional panoramic view of Montserrat Mountain and the Penedès. Due to their orientation and altitude, Llopart’s vineyards grow in a unique microclimate.
Best of Show and Gold also in Mundus Vini (get the news)
This distinction is to be added to the Gold Medal that Llopart Panoramic received two weeks ago at the Mundus Vini competition, where it was recognized as Best of Show Spain Sparkling Wine, with the best score in its category.
